Hey sightseers, now that 2024 is here, let’s catch up on a few things.

Waiting for the caffeine to kick in

My health

Back in December I broke the news that I was having some health issues. Since then I have had a number of tests including a nuclear stress test. In the photo, you can see I am holding a cup of coffee. Apparently, caffeine is used to counteract the meds they give during the test.

To find out how someone like me even gets heart disease, you can watch this video. 👇🏻

Now that I’ve been poked and prodded more than a pig on a roast, I am confident that we will be hitting the road sooner rather than later. In fact, in anticipation of getting the green light from the doctor, we already made plans to get our taxes done with the accountant. That way, we can hit the road and not have THAT hanging over our heads.

As for where we are going, that remains to be seen. Marty and I have been kicking around ideas. I would love to do an epic road trip where we head to the southwest to finish out the winter. From there we could move north to explore areas along the Pacific coast we have yet to see. Or we could go north into Utah, maybe explore Colorado. Who knows. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Neither one of us is big on planning our trips. We normally just pick a state and then wing it.

In other news…

We now have a P.O. Box

Lil’ Leo loves to nap in my lap when it’s cold

And that’s basically it. With the temps in the Midwest hovering in the single digits and the windchills getting down to -20 degrees, we have been hiding out at home. Other than the occasional drive into town for groceries, appointments or to get our walk done in the mall, I have been at home wearing the ol’ Snuggie. Or as Marty puts it, we have been doing lots of couch surfing, sightseers!
